Bagalkote, June 7: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah denied the allegation that he and his supporters were neglected in the expansion of the cabinet of the coalition government.
During his first visit to his constituency Badami after election here on Thursday, he offered pooja to goddess Banashankari Devi. Later, he told reporters that his close aides were in the cabinet. One should discharge his duty for the Congress party and government and not for his close friends or followers. Vacant six posts would be filled based on the basis of the region, caste and social justice, he said.
The allegation that Congress has bowed down to JDS is far from truth. The Congress has given up the CM post to JDS only to keep communal BJP at bay. He would develop Badami constituency comprehensively in the five years, he said.
Condolence
Siddaramaiah also visited the house of farmer Rajappa Jalageri who committed suicide on May 35 at Jammanakatti in Badami taluk, and consoled the family members and gave a cheque for Rs 5 lakh from the government and Rs 1 lakh personally as compensation.
