Bengaluru, November 6: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah expressed his happiness over the results of the by-election in the state.
“The celebration of Naraka Chaturdashi is meaningful in Ballary. People have moved from darkness to light. I wish the people of the state on the occasion of Deepavali”, Siddaramaiah tweeted.
With the victory of VS Ugrappa in Ballary Lok Sabha constituency, Reddy brothers bit the dust and it was a great insult to the mining czars.

Karnataka govt to spend Rs 2,500 cr to upgrade 500 government schools
Bengaluru, Nov 28: The Karnataka Cabinet on Thursday decided to upgrade 500 government schools as Karnataka Public Schools at an outlay of Rs 2,500 crore in four years.
For the purpose, the state government would borrow Rs 2,000 crore from the Asian Development Bank and contribute Rs 500 crore.
This project will be taken up from July 2025 to June 2029.
According to the Karnataka Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil, there are 308 Karnataka Public Schools functioning in 204 Taluks of the state.
