Bengaluru: As the recounting of votes for jayanagar assembly constituency has been completed, BJP's Ramamurthy has emerged as the winner. Meanwhile, Congress Candidate Sowmya Reddy who was termed the winner earlier lost after recounting by a margin of 16 votes.
The counting of votes was held at SSMRV College in Jayanagar and an official announcement in this regard was made by the election officials.
Amidst a tight race for the triumph, and constant political drama at the counting center, Congress had to lose one seat from its account of 136 seats taking the count to 135. The recounting took place after the BJP candidate from the constituency appealed to the election body, in contrast Congress leaders including DK Shivakumar staged a protest in front of the ECI officials.

New Delhi (PTI): Delhi battled toxic fumes on Sunday as the air quality slipped into the 'severe category with a reading of 459, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.
