Chikmagaluru, October 21: A team of miscreants reportedly caused damage to Mohiuddin Juma Masjid at Kammaradi during Dasara procession of Friday night.
On Friday at 1.30 am, the miscreants came with the idol of goddess Amma and entered the masjid by breaking the gate and later, knocked the door. They called three Maulvis who were sleeping inside the masjid to open the door, it is alleged.
Though there is a traditional belief that the people who carry the goddess will go along with the goddess wherever it goes, it is suspected that they have planned to ignite the communal violence. The allegation justifies the incident as it was happened during by-election time. Though masjid management has lodged a complaint at Hariharapura police station, the incident was solved with the compromise of the temple leaders, it is said.
Meanwhile, the miscreants have admitted to their mistake. They have recorded their act in the mobile and posted it in the social media and it has gone viral now.

Kolkata (PTI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday described the Waqf (Amendment) Bill as “anti-secular”, claiming that it would snatch the rights of Muslims.
Banerjee, speaking in the assembly, also said the Centre did not consult with states over the matter.
“The bill is anti-federal and anti-secular; it is a deliberate attempt to malign a particular section. It will snatch the rights of Muslims... The Centre did not consult with us on the Waqf Bill,” she said.
The chief minister added that “if any religion was attacked”, she would wholeheartedly condemn it.
Opposition parties have stridently criticised the amendments proposed by the bill in the existing Waqf Act, alleging that they violate the religious rights of Muslims.
The ruling BJP has asserted that the amendments will bring transparency in the functioning of the Waqf boards and make them accountable.
A parliamentary committee has been constituted to scrutinise the contentious bill.
