Karnataka: 7 women killed, 11 injured in Bidar accident
Bidar (PTI): Seven women were killed and 11 injured in a head-on collision between an auto rickshaw and a truck in a village in Chittaguppa taluk here late on Friday.
These women were labourers and were returning home after work in the auto rickshaw when it collided with the truck near Bemalakheda government school.
They have been identified as Parvathi (40), Prabhavathi (36), Gundamma (60), Yadamma (40), Jaggamma (34) Ishwaramma (55) and Rukmini Bai (60), police said.
The drivers of the two vehicles were among the 11 injured. Police said two of them are in a critical condition.
A case has been registered.

KSRTC bus and auto rickshaw collide in Puttur, one dead
Puttur: In a tragic incident late Saturday night, an auto rickshaw returning from Madikeri to Puttur, after completing Lok Sabha election duties, collided with a KSRTC bus near Mukrampadi on the Mani Mysore National Highway. The collision claimed the life of the auto-rickshaw driver, identified as Jaison (30).
The collision occurred around 2 am when the bus heading towards Puttur collided with the rickshaw travelling in the opposite direction. The impact was severe, resulting in the complete crushing of the rickshaw, with Jaison trapped inside.
Despite the efforts of the fire service, he succumbed to his injuries before being extracted from the wreckage.
