New Delhi (PTI): The Election Commission will announce the schedule for the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections on Wednesday.

The poll panel has issued an invite to announce the election schedule at 11.30 am.

The term of the 224-member Karnataka Assembly ends on May 24.

Dharwad: A suo motu case has been registered against Chakravarthy Sulibele at the Dharwad Town Police Station for allegedly making a provocative speech against women from the Muslim community.

The case was filed based on a complaint lodged by police personnel Tukaram.

According to the complaint, during a programme held on April 8 on Subhash Road in Dharwad, Sulibele allegedly made statements targeting Muslim girls in a manner that could incite hatred. The complaint states that the remarks were provocative and could create disharmony.

Police have registered the case and further legal action is being sought against him, as per the complaint.
