Bengaluru: Karnataka Congress President, DK Shivakumar, and the head of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) social media cell are facing a complaint filed with the Special Magistrate Court. The complaint alleges that they shared photos of senior BJP leaders, including State President BY Vijayendra, in a derogatory manner on the KPCC's Facebook page.

The controversy stems from a recent BJP campaign across the state, where party members carried placards with the message "I too am a 'Karasevaka,' arrest me too." This protest was in response to the arrest of BJP member Srikanth, accused of creating a disturbance in Hubballi related to the Rama Janmabhoomi issue.

According to the BJP, the Congress mocked BJP leaders, including Vijayendra, former Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa, MP Pratap Simha, former minister CT Ravi, and BJP MLA Sunil Kumar in a Facebook post. The Congress allegedly used edited images of the leaders along with false information.

In the complaint, the BJP accused the Congress of editing and misusing photos of BJP leaders, spreading false statements on social media to mislead users and create disharmony among communities in Karnataka.
