Karwar: Former Chief Minister, leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah spoke about the newly appointed CM’s trips to Delhi and said, “We have already experienced a lot of hardship because of COVID. Without suitable hospitals, beds, ventilators, oxygen, thousands of people have died. A repeat of this must be prevented. Leaving all of this, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is running around to assemble his cabinet of ministers. Going to Delhi once is okay, what is the need to go there again and again? BJP high command should also understand the problems of the state”, he said.

Speaking at a press conference at Karwar, he said, “It is the state government’s primary task to work towards the prevention of Corona’s 3rd wave in our state. In the neighbouring states of Maharashtra and Kerala, the 3rd wave has already come with the rising number of infections that are being reported. There has been an increase of people coming from these states to our state and therefore the state’s border must maintain strict precautions”, he demanded.

“More people from Kerala come to the Coastal regions, Chamarajanagar, Coorg districts in the state. Conduct strict screening at the state’s borders, don’t permit entry to those who have not taken 2 doses of vaccination and perform tests to only allow those whose results come out as negative”, Siddaramaiah requested.

“BJP MLAs have invested in Bengaluru and are lobbying for Ministerial positions. Not one MLA has gone to his respective constituency to work. For them becoming a Minister is more important than people’s lives.”

“Basavaraj Bommai has just become the Chief Minister. I will not criticize him. However, I will emphasize that attention must be paid to the problems of the state”, he said.
