Bengaluru: In what can be termed as sigh of relief for the people of nine districts of the state especially in Deccan/Hyderabad region, state government has given concession to two-wheeler riders from wearing helmet during summer.

The nine districts include Raichur, Bidar, Kalaburgi, Yadgir, Belgaum, Vijayapur, Koppal, Bellary and Bagalkot.

Traffic and Road Safety commissioner directed the Superintendent of Police in the nine districts and Hyderabad Karnataka region to look into the matter and implement the order and exempt people from compulsorily wearing helmets during summer.

During summer temperatures in these nine districts and Hyderabad Karnatakal region goes as high as 45-46 degree Celsius bike riders wearing helmet in such temperatures become prone to skin rashes and face difficulty due to heat. Hence the government has issued the order for exempting the compulsory wearing of helmet rule during summer.

Dubai (AP): Four of the six crew members aboard a US military KC-135 refueling aircraft that crashed in western Iraq have been found dead, the American military said.

The US military's Central Command made the announcement in a statement.

“Four of six crew members on board the aircraft have been confirmed deceased as rescue efforts continue,” it said. “The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. However, the loss of the aircraft was not due to hostile fire or friendly fire.”
