The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday granted permission for board exams to be held for grade 5 and 8 in the state.

The court was hearing the government’s appeal challenging the decision of single bench of the HC cancelling the government circular for conducting board examination for grade 5 and 8 students. A division bench has now granted permission for the exams to be held as per government’s circular.

“Rejecting the order of the single bench, the bench directed that 'no question can be asked other than syllabus, no one can be failed'.

On March 10, a single-judge bench had quashed government order of conducting board examination. The government had filed an appeal against the order by single-judge bench.
