Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has given the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) until 22 November to submit an affidavit detailing its annual strategy for addressing potholes and maintaining roads. The court emphasised the need for ensuring smooth pedestrian and vehicular traffic through effective road management.
In its directive, the court has asked the BBMP to specifically outline the mechanism it follows every year to tackle the recurring issue of potholes. The affidavit should provide insights into how the civic body plans to ensure roads remain in good condition throughout the year.
Additionally, the High Court has asked for detailed information on the steps taken during this year’s monsoon season to repair roads and address potholes, alongside a broader account of road repair efforts undertaken over the past year.
