Davangere: In a horrific crime that has come to light in Guttidurga village Jagaluru Taluk here, a father killed his two-year-old daughter before burying her into the field.
The deceased infant has been identified as Sirisha (2), while the accused father has been identified as Ningappa.
According to the reports Ningappa had two sons from his first wife and got married to another woman Sasikala of Guttidurga and had one daughter from the second wife.
He later confessed to the police that he brought the daughter to his native about two months back and buried her in the field after killing her 15 days ago.
Reports further added that Sasikala and Ningappa were married two years ago after falling in love with each other and were living in Chitradurga. Trouble started between the couple when Sasikala was pregnant and Ningappa insisted on aborting the child and the couple started having heated arguments frequently.
Recently, Ningappa went to Chitradurga and brought his daughter to Guddidurga. Two days later when Sasikala asked him to bring the daughter back to her, he informed that the infant died of cold while returning on the bike. Sasikala along with her family then lodged a complaint at Chitradurga Police Station against Ningappa after which the murder of the infant has come to light.
Police have arrested Ningappa and also recovered the body of Sirisha from the field where she was buried.
