Karnataka: Hospital staff arrested for derogatory post against General Bipin Rawat
Bengaluru, Dec 12: A 40-year-old man who had made a derogatory post on social media against the Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat has been arrested, police said on Sunday.
According to the police, the 40-year-old hails from Mysuru and works here as a lab technician in a hospital.
The arrest comes against the backdrop of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and State Home Minister Araga Jnanendra warning those celebrating the death of the CDS, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 others in a chopper crash on December 8 at Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. The Home Minister had told the DGP of Karnataka Praveen Sood to identify and punish those who post such remarks.

Karnataka Examinations Authority publishes syllabus for CET 2025
Bengaluru: The Karnataka Examinations Authority has released the syllabus for the Common Entrance Test (CET) to be conducted in 2025 for admission to professional courses including engineering, on its website https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/.
Executive Director of KEA, H. Prasanna on Saturday issued a notification, advising students to use the syllabus for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology from both First and Second PUC as outlined on the portal.
"This syllabus has been prepared based on the NCRTC syllabus and the textbooks published by the School Education, PUE Department," the announcement read. Furthermore, H. Prasanna explained that it has also been reviewed by subject experts from PU colleges.
