Bengaluru: Water Resources Minister, Ramesh Jarkiholi has been caught in major controversy and embarrassment after an alleged video of him with a girl in an objectionable position went viral on Tuesday.

According to reports, the Minister allegedly had misused the girl who had come seeking a job.

In this regard, activist Dinesh Kallahalli, president of Nagarika Hakku Horata Samiti has filed a case and submitted the copy of CD to Bangalore Police Commissioner.

The video is already going viral in social media and electronic media has been beaming the same news.

Kallahalli has reportedly given the copy of the CD to the media.

In a complaint, the activist has urged the police to conduct a detailed investigation to unearth the truth.

Meanwhile, the incident has created a storm in the political circles mainly in the BJP as it would surely snowball into a major controversy and embarrassment for the party. It may be noted that during the first BJP government in the State when B. S. Yediyurappa was the CM, the party and the government had faced similar embarrassment when several Ministers of the then government were found to be watching pornographic videos during the assembly session.

Bagalkot: BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra on Tuesday accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of making false promises to farmers affected by the raising of the Almatti dam height, and sought clarity on compensation and fund allocation, The New Indian Express reported.

Addressing media persons while campaigning for the bypolls in Bagalkot city, Vijayendra questioned the government’s announcement of convening a special cabinet session to address farmers’ issues.

“How much funds have actually been released? The government should explain the status of the Upper Krishna Project,” he said.

He further said that the government had, around four months ago, promised compensation of Rs 40 lakh per acre for irrigated land and Rs 30 lakh per acre for dry land to farmers likely to lose their land.

Vijayendra demanded that the government disclose how much of the promised compensation has been disbursed so far.
