Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Saturday added that he met BJP President Amit Shah and has discussed allotment of portfolios to the newly sworn-in cabinet ministers. He also added that the portfolios will be allotted to the minister on Saturday afternoon.

Yediyurappa met Amit Shah and Delhi and held meeting with the Union Home Minister for more than one and an half hour while discussing the allotment of portfolios to the 17 MLAs who sworn-in as cabinet minister on Tuesday. He later confirmed that the process will be completed by Saturday afternoon.

Yediyurappa also added that a team from Centre will visit flood-affected Districts in the state for three-days from today and will inspect situations and estimated loss incurred due to the floods.

Aktau: A passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines crashed near Aktau in Kazakhstan on Wednesday, Russian news agencies reported, citing Kazakhstan's Emergencies Ministry. The aircraft, which was en route from Baku to Grozny in Russia’s Chechnya, was rerouted due to fog in Grozny.

The crash occurred close to the Aktau airport, and visuals allegedly showing the plane plummeting to the ground and erupting into flames circulated on social media. Other footage showed first responders near the wreckage, reportedly working to retrieve survivors.

Reports suggest that the flight, numbered 8243, was carrying 105 passengers and five crew members. However, Azerbaijan Airlines has not yet issued an official statement regarding the crash.
