Kalaburagi: In a video that is going viral on social media platforms and is gathering a lot of attention of users, a police sub-inspector is seen evacuating a newborn baby and her mother from a flood-hit area in Kalaburagi District.

Social media users have appreciated the police officer for his gesture and are lauding his efforts to help the family in stress.

The officer is identified as Sangamesh.

According to the reports, owing to heavy rains over the last few days, villages on the banks of Bhima River have been inundated floods and people of the district have been evacuated. The newborn baby and mother were on Monday evacuated by Sangamesh, a PSI in the Crime Division of Javergi Taluk in the district.

The video of Sangamesh, holding the newborn baby with half of his body and uniform drenched in the floods water as he accompanies the mother and her other family members, has gone viral, prompting a positive and appreciative response from the social media users.

Circle Police Inspector and other senior police officials also lauded the efforts of Sangamesh and urged people to co-operate with police officials who are deployed for evacuation of people in flood-hit areas.
