Bengaluru: The Kaveri-2.0 software, used by the Revenue Department for property registration, has been hacked by unknown individuals, prompting authorities to file an FIR and launch an investigation.
Following a complaint by Inspector General of Registration (IGR) K.A. Dayanand, the Central CEN Station police have registered a case and begun probing the cyberattack. The hacking incident was discovered amid disruptions in the state’s Sub-Registrar offices, where registration services were halted for several days due to server issues.
During an internal review, it was found that malicious actors had breached the system, created fake accounts, and illegally accessed confidential data from the Cauvery 2.0 software. The IGR has urged authorities to take strict legal action against those responsible.
The CEN Station police confirmed that an FIR has been filed, and an investigation is underway to track down the perpetrators and assess the extent of the data breach.
