Bengaluru: Isa Khan and Yahya Khan the two brothers hailing from Bengaluru Karnataka, representing the CISCE Karnataka Boxing Team have bagged a gold and a silver medal at the CISCE National Boxing Championship 2022. The competition was held at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur between September 1 and September 3.

Both Yahya (12) and Isa (14) study in St. Germains Academy in seventh and ninth grade respectively. While the youngest of the two Yahya won Gold Medal in the U14 category at the competition the elder brother was not too far behind and bagged Silver Medal in the U17 category.

The two brothers are coached by Abhisheak Samson South Zone Boxing Champion and State Champion himself and have been practicing boxing for over a couple of years now at the Steve’s Boxing Club in the city.

Although they have bagged a few state-level championships already and flaunt the black belts in Taekwondo, their family believes that this is only the beginning of what they wish to see – the two brothers emerging as the “Kings of Rings” as their family calls it.

About 25 students were part of the Karnataka team that participated in the national championship and all the participants bagged medals. The team bagged a total of 9 Gold, 11 Silver and, five Bronze medals. The team was managed and coached by Anil Kumar L along with other coaches Giridharan, SI Babu, and Umamaheswari.

The family of Yahya and Isa Khan thanked the coaches and manager of the Karnataka team and also expressed gratitude to Karnataka Region Head Gayatri Devi, Regional Coorrdinator CISCE Sports & Games.

Hyderabad, Apr 12 (PTI): Opener Abhishek Sharma smashed a superb century and shared a 171-run partnership with Travis Head as Sunrisers Hyderabad made a mockery of the massive 245-run chase, registering an eight-wicket win against Punjab Kings here on Saturday.

SRH scored 247 for 2 with nine balls to spare.

Abhishek clobbered 141 off 55 deliveries studded with 14 fours and 10 big hits, while Head made 66 off 37 balls as the duo undid the good work done by Punjab Kings' captain Shreyas Iyer, who hit a 36-ball 82 after electing to bat first.

Abhishek also become the third-highest scorer in IPL history behind Chris Gayle (175 not out) and Brendon McCullum (158 not out).

Earlier, PBKS openers Priyansh Arya (36 off 13 balls) and Prabhsimran Singh (42 off 23) added 66 runs quickly before Iyer carried on the good work along with Nehal Wadhera (27).

Harshal Patel (4/42) emerged as the most successful SRH bowler, while Sri Lankan right-arm quick Eshan Malinga (2/45) took two wickets.
