Koppa (Chikkamagaluru): In a saddening incident,a student studying in BGS residential school in town allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday.

Srinivas (15), is a 9th standard student committed suicide by hanging himself in the school hostel at night while other students were sleeping. The reason for the suicide is not yet known.

According to sources, the 15-year-old is a son of a government official working in a Revenue Department.

Koppa police have registered a case in this regard and are further investigating the matter

Mangaluru: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Family Business Network India is set to organise a session on “Managing Family Conflict: Navigating Differences and Disagreements” on April 11, 2026.
