Belagavi: KPCC President D K Shivakumar on Tuesday handed over a relief fund of Rs 11 lakh to the family of contractor Santosh Patil who reportedly committed suicide alleging the burden of commission thrusted upon him by former minister Eshwarappa.

D K Shivakumar had earlier promised the deceased’s family of providing a relief fund of Rs 11 lakhs. Considering that the former minister visited the family in Badas, Belagavi earlier today and handed over the relief check, reports said.

Meanwhile, former minister Prakash Hukkeri has provided a relief Cheque of Rs 5 lakhs personally, it is learned.

Legislators such as Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Anjali Nimbalkar, Mahantesh S Koujalagi, MLC Channaraj Hattiholi, district president of Congress Vinay Navalagatti and others were present.

Mangaluru: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Family Business Network India is set to organise a session on “Managing Family Conflict: Navigating Differences and Disagreements” on April 11, 2026.

The event will be held at Taj Vivanta in the city from 10 am to 5 pm.

The session will be led by family business advisor Dr. N. Krishnan.
