Bengaluru: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee will hold a silent protest at more than 300 locations across the state capital on Monday between 10 am-12 pm against the state government’s corruption in the state.
Senior Congress leader of the state NA Haris along with AICC Secretary Abhishek Dutt on Sunday called a press conference at the KPCC Office here in the city and slammed the CM Bommai-led BJP government over corrupt administration and governance.
The party’s decision to hold a protest comes at a time when several working bodies across the state have alleged corruption in the existing governance including the “40% commission” allegations labeled against the government by contractors.
During the press conference, Haris said that the silent protest on the theme ‘Clear Corruption, Save Bengaluru’ will be held at 51 Metro stations, on 26 flyovers, and at 200 traffic signals. “Rather than obstructing the free movement of people by organizing protest rally, we have decided to hold a silent protest, displaying placards,” he added.
The MLA added, “Since everyone is well aware of the level of corruption in the state administration, we are stressing on the need for everyone to contribute to saving the state capital. We will conduct the protest in Bengaluru on Monday and extend it to the rest of the state later.”
