Tumkur: In an incident that reportedly occurred on Tuesday morning, a 45-year-old man identified as Shankarappa - who had been in the news for having married a 25-year-old woman five months earlier – died by suicide at Huliyur Durga Hobali in the Taluk. 

The body of Shankarappa, who is a resident of Akkimaripaalya in Huliyur Durga Hobali at the Kunigal Taluk, was reportedly found in the plantation in a hung state on Tuesday morning, it is learned. Reportedly, a death note was also found, the police informed. 

Although he had been 45 years of age, Shankarappa had not married. Amid this, Meghana (25), a resident of Santhe Mavattur Village had requested Shankarappa to marry her. As per her request, Shankarappa had married Meghana five months ago at a nearby temple, it is learned. Due to the large age difference between the married couple, their marriage had become the topic of discussion on various social media sites. 

With Shankarappa’s body now being found in a state that suggests suicide, the Huliyur Durga police visited the site and undertook an inquiry.
