Chamarajnagar: Three manual workers in Bandalli village, Hanur taluk, were injured in a lightning strike on Monday evening and have been admitted to the Holy Cross Hospital for treatment but are learned to be out of danger.
The injured workers have been identified as Manju, Guruswamy and Guru, who are residents of the Veerashaiva Layout in Bandalli village. They were returning home after completing the day's work at Chinchalli when they were struck by lightning.
The hospital officer informed that, of the three workers, Guru has burn injuries in the leg due to the strike, while the other two workers have minor injuries. All the three workers, however, are not facing any death threat due to their injuries, the officer added.

Bagalkot: The Congress has secured a victory in the Bagalkot Assembly by-election, with its candidate Umesh Meti winning the seat after maintaining a lead from the first round of counting till the end.
The seat had fallen vacant following the death of sitting MLA H Y Meti. Umesh Meti, his son, has now been elected to the Assembly.
Party leaders attributed the victory to a combination of factors, including sympathy votes, the state government’s schemes, and campaign strategies led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and senior leader Satish Jarkiholi.
The Congress maintained a consistent lead throughout the counting process, eventually securing a decisive win in the constituency.
