Bengaluru: Karnataka Health Minister Dr. K Sudhakar on Monday reacted to the reports of COVID lockdown being imposed in the state and added that the government had no such proposal before it to implement COVID enforced lockdown in the state.
“There is no need to panic about the reports. We do not have any such plans or proposals at the moment” he said while addressing a press conference in the city.
He also warned of action against those spreading such rumors about the lockdown.
“We are observing that worrying, false information is being spread in the social media concerning the Omnicron, new variant of the Covid. The common public must not be alarmed this way”, he said.
“The public has experienced a lot of hardship because of COVID waves 1 and 2. There has been a significant loss of life. Therefore, the public must not be worried again”, the Minister requested.

Bidar: A 22-year-old rider, Mahesh, died on the spot while another was grievously injured in a head-on collision between motorbikes near Basava Nagar in Bhalki taluk on Saturday night.
The deceased, Mahesh, was a resident of Kuntesirsi village in Bhalki taluk. The second rider, Vivekananda (36), who is a resident of Navadgi village, is being treated at a hospital in Bidar.
Mahesh was reportedly riding from Bhalki to Kuntesirsi when his bike collided head-on with Vivekananda’s bike. Mahesh died on the spot due to the intensity of the collision.
A case has been registered at the Bhalki Town Police Station and the officers are probing the incident.
