Chamarajnagar: Salur Mutt's junior Swamiji Immadi Mahadeva, who is one of the accused in the prasad tragedy which took 15 lives, has allegedly made former Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda drink distilled water around eight years ago.
DV Sadananda Gowda, along with his family, had visited the Malemahadeshwara Temple and offered a special pooja on April 29 2012, when he was chief minister. Then he had gone to Salur Mutt for breakfast.
Pongal, Kichadi, and Idli was served in breakfast at Saluru Mutt to DVS, his wife Datty, MLC Prof. KR Mallikarjunappa, and to many other dignitaries. However, the staff of the mutt had reportedly offered distilled water to Sadananda Gowda to drink.
When DVS complained of a burning feeling, the distilled water issue came to the fore. Later he was treated at a local hospital. But it was said that the distilled water was kept on the table by mistake and the issue was buried there itself. Now, as the Saluru mutt's karmakandas are getting unearthed one after the other, the DVS' distilled water issue has also come to the fore.

Tehran/Doha: Iran’s President Massoud Pezeshkian has warned that attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure could lead to “uncontrollable consequences” affecting the entire world.
In a post on X, Pezeshkian said he “strongly condemns” the strikes that targeted the South Pars gasfield earlier in the day.
“Such aggressive actions will not achieve anything for the American Zionist enemy and their supporters. Rather, they will complicate the situation and could lead to uncontrollable consequences that will affect the entire world,” he said.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has urged residents to remain indoors due to what it described as an elevated security threat.
Authorities have not provided further details, but the advisory comes amid growing concerns over the safety of energy infrastructure and civilian areas in the region.
