Malur, August 03: SP Rohini Sepat Katoch said that the police have arrested the accused in the SSLC student Rakshitha murder case.
Speaking to reporters at Malur police station on Friday, she said that the arrested is identified as TN Suresh Babu (29) of Tekal village in the taluk. The police have arrested him in the police station as he was trying to escape by train near Tekal, she said.
Based on the complaint given by Rakshita father Ravi, total eight teams were formed to arrest the accused and succeeded in arresting him within 24 hours of the incident. The accused used to come near her house for mason work. As he liked her, he stopped her while she was coming home along with her friend from the school on the road on Thursday evening and tried to use her sexually. As she protested it, he killed her by crushing her head, he admitted to the police.
The SP said that the accused would be produced before the court after interrogating him.
