Bengaluru: A Congress worker has been arrested by the Adugodi police for spreading false news that an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) had been hacked during the recent elections. A case has been registered against Syed under IPC 177 for obstructing election duty and spreading false news.

The accused has been identified as Syed.

On May 10, Syed arrived at a polling station in Chinnaiyanapalaya and cast his vote. After voting, he called some leaders and alleged that if he voted for one party's symbol, his vote would go to another party, indicating that the EVM had been hacked.
