Mandya: Baby dies after vaccination; parents accuse doctor’s negligence
Mandya, Dec 7: A one-and-half month-old baby died after it was vaccinated with pentavalent vaccine at Kadukottanahalli in Maddur taluk on Friday.
The baby of Swamy and Jyothi from Cheeranahalli in Mandya taluk died within 24 hours of getting the vaccination.
Jyothi who was at her mother’s house at Kadukottanahalli, got her baby vaccinated at the local primary health centre on Thursday afternoon. After suffering from fever throughout the night, the baby died on Friday morning.
Now, parents and relatives alleged that their baby was died because of the negligence of the doctors. Though they have taken the suffering baby to the hospital, the doctors have not responded, they said and staged a protest in front of the PHC.
After administering pentavalent vaccination, three children were died in the taluk last year. But the Health Department officers denied the allegation that the child died due to vaccination.

Karnataka Governor Gehlot greets people on Yugadi
Bengaluru (PTI): Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Wednesday extended warm greetings to the people of the state on the eve of Yugadi.
