Bengaluru: The blast in an auto rickshaw in Mangaluru reflects the failure of the Home Department and the State Intelligence Bureau, Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah has said.

In a tweet posted on Sunday, Siddaramaiah has said, “The State DGP has himself admitted that the minor blast in Mangaluru was an act of terror. I strongly condemn the act of violence and urge the police to hasten the investigation on the case and arrest the guilty parties.”

He has also requested citizens not to go by rumours on the incident or panic, but to be careful.

Kasaragod: UDF candidate A.K.M. Ashraf has won the Manjeshwar Assembly seat in Kerala and is set to return to the Assembly.

He led from the start of counting and kept increasing his margin, finally winning by 31,193 votes.

Ashraf got 96,367 votes, while BJP’s K. Surendran got 65,174 votes. LDF candidate K.R. Jayanand finished third with 20,365 votes.

In the last election, Ashraf had won by just 745 votes against Surendran, but this time he significantly increased his lead.
