Bantwal: Concerning the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s silence on the suicide case of contractor Santhosh Patil who had accused Minister K. S. Eeshwarappa of demanding commission and the mounting atmosphere of communal tension experienced in the state the SDPI workers accused the CM of inaction and displayed black flags to the Chief Minister and his entourage passing through Valachchil on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister who was on his way from Mangaluru to attend the Dakshina Kannada level BJP’s organizational program scheduled at Bantwal’s Bunt’s Auditorium was shown black flags by the S.D.P.I. Activists in a demonstration of outrage and protest.
As the Chief Minister’s vehicle was approaching, the activists shouted slogans and blocked the road momentarily to show black flags and demonstrated their dissatisfaction to the CM. The police stopped the S.D.P.I activists and dispersed them, and some of them were even detained, it is learned.
