Mayawati asks party's lone Karnataka MLA to support Kumaraswamy govt
Lucknow/Bengaluru, Jul 21: Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has directed the lone BSP MLA in Karnataka to vote in favour of the Kumaraswamy government in the state.
"BSP national president Mayawati has directed the BSP MLA to vote in support of the Kumaraswamy government," the BSP chief said Sunday in a tweet.
N Mahesh is the lone BSP MLA in Karnataka.
The fate of the fragile HD Kumaraswamy led Congress- JDS coalition government in Karnataka is likely to be decided on the assembly floor on Monday.
State Governor Vajubhai Vala had on Friday asked the state chief minister twice to wrap up the ongoing debate on his trust motion in the assembly, which, however, failed to conclude the proceeding on the day.
The Kumaraswamy's government has been hit by a spate of resignations by the party's rebel MLAs.

Tehran/Doha: Iran’s President Massoud Pezeshkian has warned that attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure could lead to “uncontrollable consequences” affecting the entire world.
In a post on X, Pezeshkian said he “strongly condemns” the strikes that targeted the South Pars gasfield earlier in the day.
“Such aggressive actions will not achieve anything for the American Zionist enemy and their supporters. Rather, they will complicate the situation and could lead to uncontrollable consequences that will affect the entire world,” he said.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has urged residents to remain indoors due to what it described as an elevated security threat.
Authorities have not provided further details, but the advisory comes amid growing concerns over the safety of energy infrastructure and civilian areas in the region.
