Mysuru: K. Venkatesh, Minister of Animal Husbandry and Sericulture in Karnataka, said the milk procurement price will be hiked by Rs 5 per litre. The current procurement price stands at Rs 33 per litre.

The minister said that as per Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s suggestion, the purchase price will be hiked as a New Year’s gift.

The statement was made during the inauguration of the Milk Federation’s office at APMC Yard in T. Narsipur taluk, Mysuru district.

Venkatesh mentioned that the Chief Minister has agreed in principle to the increase and highlighted that the Rs 5 will be ensured to reach the farmers in full.

Jerusalem, Oct 18: A top political leader of Hamas, Khalil al-Hayya, on Friday confirmed the death of the group's leader, Yahya Sinwar.

Al-Hayyaa, in a televised statement, reiterated the Hamas group's stance that it will not release Israeli hostages captured in the group's October 7, 2023 attack on Israel until there is a cease-fire in the yearlong war in Gaza.

“Those prisoners will not return to you before the end of the aggression on Gaza and the withdrawal from Gaza,” he said.
