Bengaluru: Lakshmi Hebbalkar, the Minister for Women and Child Development, has appealed to the beneficiaries of the Karnataka government's 'Gruha Lakshmi' scheme to register for the program directly and avoid falling victim to fraudulent offers from brokers. The registration for the scheme is set to commence on July 19.
In a tweet addressing the registration process, Minister Hebbalkar stated on Tuesday that beneficiaries can visit Karnataka One, Bengaluru One, Grama One offices, and Bapuji centers to register for the scheme free of cost. Additionally, dedicated volunteers known as 'Praja Pratinidhi' have been assigned the task of conducting door-to-door visits to assist with the registration process, without charging any fees.
During the registration, applicants will be required to present their bank passbooks, as well as provide their ration card numbers and mobile phone numbers. It is mandatory for applicants to provide their husband's Aadhaar card as well.
To access the free benefits offered by the scheme, applicants are advised to message their ration card numbers to the helpline number 8147500500. Upon doing so, they will receive information regarding the date, location, and timing of their registration for the 'Gruha Lakshmi' scheme. For further information and to clarify any doubts related to the scheme and its benefits, individuals can contact the helpline number 1902.
The 'Gruha Lakshmi' scheme aims to provide housing assistance and support to eligible beneficiaries. Minister Hebbalkar's emphasis on registering directly and avoiding brokers is intended to protect applicants from fraudulent activities and ensure that they can access the benefits of the scheme without any additional costs.
