Tumkur, Jan 10: A missing Tumkur University professor found dead in the ISRO forest area behind Old HMT, on Thursday. 

The body of Tumkur university Science department Professor Eshwar (57) found in mutilated condition in the forest and it is suspected that he might have hanged himself.

On December 9, he had gone out for walking. Since then he was missing. Later his missing case created lot of suspicion. Meanwhile, family members of Eshwar accused his colleagues of torturing him. New Extension police registered a case.

Koppala: In a tragic incident, a man allegedly murdered his wife in Arakeri village of Kukanur taluk. The victim, identified as Geetha Bhavikatti, was reportedly killed by her husband, Devareddappa Bhavikatti, on suspicion of infidelity.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Saturday when Devareddappa attacked Geetha, leading to her death. It is further alleged that Devareddappa, with the assistance of his father, Mallaradyappa, performed the last rites late at night in an attempt to conceal the crime.

Following a complaint lodged by Geetha’s brother, the Kukanur police have arrested both Devareddappa and Mallardadyappa. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
