Bengaluru, August 01: BJP leader and MLA B Sriramulu was booked against giving a provocative statement on separate north Karnataka state, at Malleshwaram police station on Wednesday.
Kannada Implementation Board president R A Prasad and members lodged a complaint against Sriramulu at the police station demanding stringent action against the BJP leader.
Speaking to reporters later, Prasad said that Sriramulu had said that Telangana model protest should be launched for separate north Karnataka state, at a programme in Ballary on July 27 and supported the August 2 bandh call. Sriramulu was in a responsible position and it was not fair to give such statement. A complaint was lodged against him under the Karnataka State Reorganisation Act and the police should act against him, he said.
