Yadgir: More than 20 students of the government school in Shettygere village of Yadgir taluk reportedly fell ill after consumption of tablets to prevent elephantiasis.

A health camp was organized recently, to give the children preventive medicine against elephantiasis. Students at the government school have fallen ill after taking the tablets, said sources.

Dr Hanamantha Reddy, taluk health officer at the district hospital, is learned to have visited and checked the children.

“More than 20 students have ill, and are being treated urgently at the district hospital. The children are recovering following the treatment,” the officer has reportedly said.

Ranchi (PTI): A Ranchi-based businessman died allegedly by suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of his apartment here, police said on Friday.

The incident took place around 10:30 pm on Thursday in Hindpiri police station area, they said.

“The deceased, Anurag Sarawgi, was heard speaking to someone over the phone in a loud tone. The door of his room was bolted from inside. He then suddenly jumped from the sixth floor of the apartment,” SP (City) Paras Rana told PTI.

No suicide note was recovered from his room, Rana said.

A thorough investigation is underway, the SP added.
