Shivamogga, August 29: Bodies of mother and her daughter found at a tank in Hilikere near Devangi in Thirthahalli taluk on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Nidhi (30), wife of Arun of Hilikere and his daughter Souparnika (6). Nidhi and her daughter had left the house saying that they would go to hospital. But they did not return home even after evening. Though the relatives, neighbours and surrounding villagers were enquired about their whereabouts, there was no information. But on Wednesday morning, the villagers noticed the bodies floating in the tank and later, informed the family.
Police also visited the spot and verified. After fishing out of the bodies, they were sent to the government hospital for postmortem. They suspected that they might have committed suicide. A case was registered at Thirthahalli police station.
