Mysuru: The shoot out incident took place in the city recently got a new twist with the CID police suspecting the role of police inspector Kumar.

Citing the dereliction of duty, the CID Police, during investigation, found that before shooting, Kumar did not bring this to the Notice of the higher officials. Moreover, he had close contact with the main conspirator in the incident and suspect that he received huge amount from him to carryout the shoot out purposefully, according to the report given to the government.

A police team led by Kumar had conducted raid on a house at Vijaynagar following an information that hawala money laundering was going on, and killed a person hailed from Punjab. But a person involved in the money laundering case had complained that it was a preplanned shoot out and some police officers and others were  involved in it.

Taking the shoot out incident seriously, the government has handed over the incident to CID probe. CID police interrogated many persons including inspector Kumar and submitted report to the government citing the lapses of inspector Kumar in the case.
