Bengaluru: Anticipating heavy passenger traffic after the extended Independence Day weekend, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has announced that its Yellow Line services will begin earlier than usual on Monday, August 18.
The first trains will depart at 5:00 am from both R.V. Road and Delta Electronics Bommasandra stations.
This special arrangement is valid only for Monday, with services returning to the regular schedule of 6:30 am from Tuesday, August 19.
This has been done to ensure smoother and more convenient travel on the first working day after the long holiday.
Meanwhile, services on the Purple and Green Lines will continue to operate as per their established Monday schedule, beginning at 4:15 am, read a release from BMRCL.

Jamshedpur (PTI): One person was arrested on the charge of raping a 30-year-old woman with speech impairment in Jamshedpur, a police officer said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred in the Azadnagar police station area of the city, and a case in this regard was registered based on the statement of the victim's brother on Monday.
The victim had gone to fetch water from the premises of a company on Monday evening. When she did not return even after a considerable time, family members went out in search of her and caught the accused red-handed, police said.

The accused was a caretaker of the company.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Patamda) Bachandeo Kujjur said due to scarcity of water in the area, the victim used to fetch water from the premises of the company.
