New Delhi: MPs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal Secular (JDS) staged a protest on the Parliament premises today, calling for the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The protest was fueled by allegations of corruption against the Karnataka government, including accusations of misappropriation of funds from the Valmiki Corporation and illegal auctioning of vacant plots by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA).

The protesting MPs from Karnataka condemned the alleged irregularities within the state government and criticized its functioning. They chanted slogans such as “Congress party is looting the money of Karnataka Dalits” and “Where is Rahul Gandhi?” They also demanded that the Chief Minister be removed, with slogans like “Hathao, Hathao corrupt Chief Minister Ko Hathao” (Remove, Remove the corrupt Chief Minister).

MP Jagadish Shettar addressed the media, claiming that the Chief Minister has obstructed the oppsoition from discussing the MUDA scam in the House and labeled it as a cover-up. Shettar said that their MLAs had staged an all-night sit-in protest in Karnataka and reiterated their stance in Delhi.

MP Govinda Karajola alleged that there was a ₹187 crore scam involving the Valmiki Corporation, with funds being diverted to fake accounts. He held the Chief Minister, responsible for the finance department, accountable and demanded his immediate resignation.

P. C. Mohan also called for Siddaramaiah's resignation, arguing that he should take moral responsibility for both the Valmiki Corporation and MUDA scams.
