Bengaluru: B.Y. Vijayendra, the newly appointed Karnataka State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), disclosed on Friday that the Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly would be chosen on November 17.

Vijayendra informed reporters that a legislative committee meeting is scheduled within the next week, during which the Leader of the Opposition will be selected.

He further explained that the meeting would have the participation of party members from the Centre, and, under their supervision, the opinions of all BJP legislators would be gathered for the crucial decision.

Vijayendra highlighted that the matter had already been discussed between veteran BJP leader B.S. Yediyurappa and J.P. Nadda, the National President of the party.

Ranchi (PTI): The bodies of two men with slit throats were found in Jharkhand's Ranchi on Monday morning, a police officer said.

The bodies were recovered from a deserted place in the Dhurwa Police Station limits, he said.

The police suspect that both of them were killed on Sunday night, and the murderers abandoned the bodies in a deserted place, the officer said.

"The two bodies are yet to be identified. The deceased would be between 20 and 22 years of age. We have initiated a probe into the matter," Hatia Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pramod Kumar Mishra told PTI.

He said that the throats of the men were slit with a sharp object.
