Bengaluru: BJP MP BY Raghavendra on Tuesday indicated that the new Chief Minister of the state can be a surprising face.

Speaking to reporters in the city on Tuesday the MP and son of outgoing CM BS Yediyurappa said that the new CM will be a surprising new candidate much like how it panned out in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

He also said that Yediyurappa had decided to resign from the post of CM about two months back.

He then slammed reports of his involvement in cabinet expansion and questioned when his father himself had no role to play in the expansion as CM, how he would play any role.

Bangkok: Thailand's defence minister says 90 people are missing and three are confirmed dead at the site where a high-rise building under construction collapsed when a powerful earthquake hit the capital.

Defence Minister Phumtham Wechayachai offered no more details about the ongoing rescue efforts but first responders said that seven people had been rescued so far from outside the collapsed building.

The building came down suddenly when the 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Friday, sending a crane toppling off the roof and a giant plume of dust into the air.
