Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister B.S Yediyurappa on Tuesday confirmed the date for the upcoming cabinet expansion. He said that the oath-taking ceremony for the new ministers at the Raj Bhavan will be held at 4 pm on January 13, Wednesday.

Yediyurappa said that the new list of ministers pertaining to the cabinet expansion will be released on Wednesday and added that the information related to the ministers who did not make the cut would be released by Tuesday evening.

It is being said that, Munirathna, who was chosen after retaining the lead during the Rajarajeshwari Nagar’s by-elections, Belagavi Hukkeri region’s MLA Umesh Katti, Dakshina Kannada district’s Sullia region’s senior MLA SM Angara, Chitradurga district’s Hiriyur region’s MLA Purnima Srinivas, Vidhana Parishad member R. Shanker, MTB Nagaraj, C.P Yogeshwar and former MLA Aravind Limbavali, the government’s chief advisor in Vidhana Sabha, Karkala region’s MLA V. Sunil Kumar and Chief Minister’s Political Secretary, Honnali region’s MLA M.P Renukaacharya will be joining the list of Ministers to be added in the upcoming cabinet expansion.

Mangaluru: A two-wheeler rider was killed on Sunday morning after his vehicle collided with a tanker from behind near Arkula Bridge, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Ashfaq (22), a resident of Farangipete.

According to reports, the tanker was heading towards BC Road when the two-wheeler rammed into it from behind near a furniture shop close to Arkula Bridge. Ashfaq sustained severe injuries.

He was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Padil where he recived initial treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries while being taken to another private hospital in the city for further treatment, police added.

Traffic police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
