Bengaluru: Ramanagar Police on Tuesday, August 1, registered 137 cases of violation of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) ban on the entry of two-wheelers, three-wheelers, including auto rickshaws, tractors, hydraulic multi-axle vehicles on to the Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway.

The police officers and NHAI authorities kept watch at the entry and exit of the Expressway starting 8 am on Tuesday, stopping the prohibited vehicles from using the Expressway. In addition, posters were put up along the Expressway, to provide information on the prohibitory rule to drivers.

Ramanagara District Police tweeted on Tuesday that they had registered up to 137 cases of violation of the NHAI rule, adding that a fine of Rs 68,500 had been collected from the violators.

Bengaluru (PTI): Four people have been arrested on charges of moral policing in Chandra Layout here, a senior police officer said on Friday.

According to DCP West S. Girish, a Burqa-clad woman was sitting on a scooter with a youth, when four people from her community accosted her for speaking to someone from a different community.

"We have received a complaint from the woman based on which we have registered a case. We have arrested four people including a juvenile," Girish told reporters.

"There is no violence involved in this incident. We have taken up an investigation in this case," he added.
