Bengaluru: In the wake of preventing the impact of the imminent 3rd wave of COVID, the night curfew has been extended till August 30 in the State Capital of Bengaluru.

In this regard, the city police commissioner Kamal Pant has released an order stating that in the wake of the imminent 3rd wave of Corona, Bengaluru will observe night curfew until August 30 to prevent the rise in the number of infection cases. The curfew will be in effect from 9 pm and end at 5 am, he said.

“With the number of Corona cases rising in the city, the night curfew has been implemented as a control measure. The night curfew will be enforced after 9 p.m. and legal action will be taken against unnecessary vehicular movement and vehicles will be confiscated”, he cautioned.

Ullal: The Mangaluru City Crime Branch police opened fire on an accused in the Kotekar Cooperative Society robbery case on Tuesday near Katungara Gudde in Talapady.

The accused, identified as Kannan Mani, a resident of Chembur Tilak Nagar in Mumbai, was in police custody when the incident occurred. According to officials, he attempted to escape while being taken to the crime scene as part of the investigation.

The firing took place near the Karnataka-Kerala border under the jurisdiction of Ullal police station. Further details on the accused's condition and the ongoing investigation are awaited.
