Bengaluru, October 04: Primary and Secondary Education Minister N. Mahesh clarified that the BSP would not make alliance with any political party in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.

Speaking to reporters at the Vidhana Soudha here on Thursday, Mahesh said that the BSP would contest all the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies independently. “I am the minister in the coalition government. But till now, BSP chief Mayawati didn’t ask me to come out of the Cabinet. She has not contacted me so far. It is my duty to follow the direction of my party National President. I will not speak anything about JDS. In our villages, we call parthenium plant as Congress plant and I have just said that launched cleanliness drive by removing the Congress plant. When I said that statement, I did not have Congress party in my mind”,  he said.

Bengaluru (PTI): Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Tuesday said he, along with Ministers H K Patil and M B Patil, will discuss with MPs from the state on pending approvals for the state's irrigation projects.

Speaking to reporters at Kempegowda International Airport before leaving for Delhi, he said the Centre has kept clearances for several irrigation projects pending.

"The Central government has kept approvals pending for the state's irrigation projects. Therefore, H K Patil, M B Patil and I will meet all the MPs from Karnataka and hold discussions," Shivakumar said.

He added that the outcome of the deliberations would be shared later and that a collective effort would be made to press the Centre to take a decision.

"We will inform you about the details of the discussions after we return. We will collectively urge the central government to decide on irrigation issues," he said.
