Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has classified Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Shivamogga districts as sensitive zones in light of recent communal tensions, and strict action will be taken without any leniency, said Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara.

Speaking to the media in Bengaluru, the minister stated that the government is taking the recent murder of a youth in Mangaluru very seriously. "We will act firmly without hesitation. If such incidents keep repeating, we cannot remain silent. The law will be further tightened," he asserted.

He added that during previous incidents, the government studied the situation and has now issued immediate orders to form a task force dedicated to curbing communal violence. The Director General of Police has been instructed to initiate appropriate measures in this regard.

"Half of the personnel from the existing Naxal suppression force will be reassigned to the communal violence control unit and will be provided with necessary powers and facilities. Special attention will be given to these three districts," he announced.

Parameshwara also revealed that the investigation into the recent Mangaluru murder case has uncovered serious leads, based on which further action will be taken. He appealed to public representatives to support peace efforts and warned that inciting violence cannot be tolerated.

"I have directed officials to hold peace meetings with religious leaders," he concluded.
