Hubballi, Aug 02: The North Karnataka Raitha Sangha’s bandh call seeking a separate state for North Karnataka evokes a poor response in all the 13 districts of North Karnataka.
The North Karnataka Raitha Sangha had called for a bandh in the 13 districts of North Karnataka urging separate state for North Karnataka for the development of this region. However, except several protests in Hubballi, the bandh evoked an inadequate response in remaining areas.
No organization has called for the bandh in Koppal. Similarly, there was no proper response to the bandh's call in other districts of Hyderabad Karnataka. Bandh supporters gathered near Hubballi’s Chennamma circle and demanded the formation of a separate North Karnataka state.
Meanwhile, in Yadgir, activists of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike felicitated the shop owners who did not support the Bandh and appreciated their concerned towards the Akhand Karnataka.

New Delhi (PTI): President Droupadi Murmu on Monday condoled the loss of lives in the fire incident at a hospital in Odisha and prayed for a speedy recovery of the injured.
At least ten patients were killed after a major fire erupted in an ICU in Odisha government-run SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, in the wee hours of Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said.
"Deeply distressed by the loss of lives in the tragic fire incident at a hospital in Cuttack, Odisha. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured," Murmu said in a post on X.
