Bengaluru: Kamalakar Mesta, father of Paresh Mesta, met Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday, requesting for a reinvestigation of his son’s death in Kumta, Uttara Kannada.
“My son Paresh’s death was under unnatural circumstances, but, due to lack of evidence, the CBI officials have submitted a Report B. The case was handed over to the CBI after four months of my son’s death, by which time, much of the evidence had been destroyed. I am, therefore, deprived of justice,” said Mesta.
“I request you to ask the CBI to conduct a reinvestigation of my son’s death, in the backdrop of these circumstances,” Mesta has urged the chief minister.
Bommai assured Kamalakar Mesta that the government would examine his request and take suitable action.
Kota Srinivas Poojary, Minister in-charge of Uttara Kannada district; Law Minister Shivaram Hebbar; Fisheries Minister S Angara, legislators Dinakar Shetty, Sunil Naik and Kumara Narayana Markandeya were present on the occasion.
