Karwar: BJP legislator Shivaram Hebbar has stated that some of his party colleagues had worked for his defeat during the Karnataka Assembly elections, adding that he had written to the BJP senior leaders to take disciplinary action against such members.
Addressing reporters in Yellapur town, Hebbar said that the party should ensure that the party members do not repeat the mistake in the backdrop of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. “I am waiting for the response of the party leaders to my letter seeking action against the culprits in the party,” he added.
“I have not had any problems with the state or national level leaders of the party. It is only the behavior of the local leaders, who did not support me, that pained me greatly,” Hebbar told the reporters, adding, “I have not taken a decision on any political issue currently. I have also not held any discussion with anyone about joining the Congress.”
